Hi, Debbie. I was so grieved to hear of your cancer diagnosis, and so encouraged as I read your messages on your website. You are fighting a battle that I can only dimly conceive of; I am struck with the patience, faith, and courage it must take to endure through such a battle. My mom and my cousin were also recently diagnosed with cancer. I will pray for you as I pray for them. Much love to you, Debbie. --Laura

Debbie--Thinking of you on chemo #3 day and praying it will wipe out any remaining cancer cells and that you will have your healthy and energetic body back very soon! It's so great that you're sharing yourself in such a personal way on this web site (good job, Fritz!)-- I continue to check it daily, and it helps to keep you and your family constantly on my mind and in my heart. I'm sure it was designed mainly to help encourage and lift you up, but in turn, I am also encouraged and inspired by your faith and positive attitude, and by the love that is being shared with you! May God continue to bless and keep you all safe in His care....Cheri

Hi Debbie and Dewey,
We hope you are doing well and, Debbie, we hope your treatments went well today.
There is a good article in the online version of The New Yorker, about the "war on cancer." It's at:
http://www.newyorker.com/ON-LINE_ONLY/ARCHIVES/?010604on_onlineonly01
It contains lots of links to good online sites for learning about cancer, and it talks about some encouraging developments.
Again, we hope you are doing well and you continue to be in our thoughts.

Debbie, I praise God for the good news about your progress. He answers prayer in a powerful way. It is our faith in His love and power that make every update a wonderful and powerful one. May he continue to remove the cancer in the way that He sees fit. I hope to see you soon, and will call sometime when we can talk. Take care of yourself and know that you are deeply loved here in South Carolina.

Okay, maybe one major drug treatment a day is enough. We will continue to pray that your white blood count soars so that your body can work with the chemo to wipe out the cancer next week.

Debbie,
You were in my thoughts and prayers yesterday, as you underwent chemo. I hope that all the prayers from everyone helped your body to handle the chemo well! I hope that you will feel well today, and that the chemo / prayers / herbs / nutrition / and God will continue to help shrink the tumor.
By the way, in case it might possibly help - I printed out a couple of recent photos of you (from your trip to the beach) and put them in the "health" part of my apartment which I have tried to feng-shui as much as possible, since many friends have given me positive feedback about how feng shui can sometimes be very helpful.
Lots of hugs,

Debbie, I am so glad I was able to meet you and your beautiful family today. Your Dad is delightful; I have given him Rasheeda Carkhum's (social worker) number at Emory Hospital. She is very aware of the many resources available to patients and is extremely knowledgeable about government programs. Hopefully, they can make whatever is necessary happen. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of any assistance at any time. I do appreciate your Dad turning me on to your website. I will share it. Take care.

Dear Debbie,
Have been thinking of you all weekend, knowing that this would be the day for your treatments. We pray that all will go well and that after your rest, you will continue with the "getting well" process.
It's lovely here today, we've been so blessed with cleansing rains.
I think of your treatments as just that, cleansing rain! The air is no longer filled with the acrid smell of smoke...your body will no longer be filled with cancer. The birds are chirping and bringing us joy...you will be filled with joy and singing, too!
The pain will cease completely, as you are filled with renewed, cancer-free cells!
"I lift up my eyes to the hills--
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let (my) foot slip--
he who watches over (me) will not slumber;
indeed he who watches over (me)
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord watches over (me)--
the Lord is (my) shade at (my) right hand;
the sun will not harm (me) by day,
nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep (me) from all harm--
he will watch over (my) life;
the Lord will watch over (my) coming and going
both now and forevermore."
Psalm 121
Consider yourself hugged...Mom, too! :-)
We love you very much and pray for you constantly.

Hi Debbie
It seems like ages since I've put a message on, but that doesn't mean that you are far from thought and prayer. My list of runners is increasing for our Race for Life which we will run at the end of July. Even Donna!!!! eh? She will be blaming me when she is huffing and puffing round those country lanes! But we are so looking forward to that.
Debbie, I have just returned from a weekend in Glasgow with friends - a self-improvement course called Mindstore for Life by a guy called Jack Black. It concerns the power positive thinking and being futurists whilst not denying the reality we are in. We meditated and did some re-programming!! I know that with prayer, positive thinking and believing that all things are possible and that nothing is too small for our God, you will have the strength and courage to keep on, to win that race.
I was telling my friends on the course about you on our train journey home. I gave them your web site to look up. My friend did so in the early hours of this morning and then e.mailed me to offer his help with any of the technicalities of the challenge of your health insurance. He specialises in health insurance. If you want to email him, maybe he can help you in some way. His name is Eddie Rodwell and his email address is eddie@rodwell.plus.com. Eddie is also a hypnotherapist and counsellor and he helps many people. But he is also a beautiful person who loves God. He would like to help you too if he can.
God bless Debbie, your web page is so positive and proves that we are in a family who really care about each other.

We had an absolutely lovely visit with Dewey's parents and were so happy to be able to meet Dewey and Aurora, as well as Debbie's mother and sister, Tami. We loved Tadpoles, but especially, we loved Aurora. I would love to have taken her in my arms and held her and rocked her. She is a precious and beautiful child. We check your webbsite regularly and are continually praying for your recovery and for God to strengthen and support your family as their needs arise. You seem to be a very strong person, have much faith and are surrounded by marvelous love, from your family, friends and most of all our Father. Chre Debbie,

Hi Debbie,
We are back home in England but really tired from the flight.
I have only been up a couple hours and am ready to get back to bed, I believe Gloria has already retired to it.
It was good visiting you and I appreciate the way you have managed to stay much the same as ever. I was quite worried about how I would react to seeing you so ill. I think I handled it very well, dont you?
I told dewey that he should have his head shaved as well, as a sign of solidarity. I even promised to do the same!
He's taking some time to think it over.
As we left on your Birthday, we missed all the parties you must have had, but we wish you all the best, with many, many many more to come. We love you and pray for you constantly.

Dearest Debbie,
I appreciated the second part of your interview. "Mature love casts out all fear", has been a central, encouraging verse to me for years. I realized that most of my emotional pain came from fear about 20 years ago. I felt much anger back then but under the anger I found fear. Fear was every where in my old preChristian life. I have been praying for years to be able to have a mature love. When I can be there,in love (in God), I am free. May you and all the people who love you and will love you as they get to know you, share a perfect love.
Truly Yours,
John

Yo' Debbie!
Just finished reading the second installment, you are a wonder, Girl! What a joy to know how you feel, and what a privilege to know how you are facing your fears. At sometime in our lives, we all have to face them...head on! Bill and I have certainly been tested, but we keep on truckin'. You just have to!
I pray that Dewey can find some relief and be able to do "his thing!" That will be a great release for him.
The Lord's been good to us these last few days, sending some gloriously refreshing RAIN! Even the orange tree out back wonders what happened...it's got blossoms on it again!I think I saw it "smile!" It bloomed in Feb., but a big wind blew, causing a lot of the blooms to "lose their grip!"
We talked about you last night at Wednesday Bible Study. We are all thinking about you and praying for a continuance of the "feel good stuff" that's goin' on!
Well, sweet girl, keep getting better, know that you are loved and thought of CONSTANTLY, and keep hangin'!
Give hugs all 'round!
Much love, Barbara :-)

Dear Debbie,
I gather from the most recent messages that today is your birthday.I hope yours was just grand. You deserve to put things out of your mind for a while and sit back and enjoy your birthday. The following is a story I thought you might enjoy.
"I was sitting, torn by grief.Someone came and talked to me of God's dealings, of why things happen,of hope. He talked constantly,he said things I knew wer true, but I was unmoved except to wish he'd go away. He finally did.
Another came and sat beside me. He just sat beside me for an hour and more, listened when I said something, answered briefly, prayed a simple prayer, and left. I was so very moved. I was comforted, I hated to see him go."
I Believe
I believe in the sun
even when it is not shining
I believe in love
even when I feel it not
I believe in God
even when He is silent.
Debbie, I am still praying for you and your entire family.
We have come to love you all and we will keep all of you in our prayers, at home, in the car, at church. And we will continue to ask others to do the same
